Lee M. Cashell, Chairman and CEO
Formerly a private equity fund manager in Hong Kong, Mr. Cashell has been living and working in Asia for eighteen years where he has held various positions within the investment banking industry including Chinaeconomist, financial analyst and corporate finance manager. He has acted as an advisor to numerous technology firms, investment funds and government agencies throughout the region. Prior to founding Asia Pacific Investment Partners he served as a private equity fund manager for JAFCO Investments Asia, one of the largest private equity groups in the Asia Pacific region with over US$ 3 billion under management. At JAFCO Mr Cashell was responsible for investments in the Greater China region where he focused on valuation arbitrage opportunities, internet technologies, construction materials and infrastructure opportunities. Mr. Cashell is also a founder of The Mongolian Institute for Sustainable Economic Development as well as Zero2IPO, a China based investment bank. He has been a contributor to publications including Business China, The China Financial Report, The Economist Intelligence Unit, the Mongolia Real Estate Guide and the Mongolian Financial Report. Mr. Cashell is a member of the Pan Asia Chapter of the Young President’s Organization. Mr Cashell received his undergraduate degree from the University of Delaware with a dual major in economics and political science and received his Masters degree in international business from The American Graduate School of International Management (Thunderbird). Mr. Cashell wrote his thesis on Emerging Market Portfolio Management with special emphasis on the emerging financial markets of the Peopleʼs Republic of China.
Tsendsuren Bordukh, Chief Investment Officer
Ms. Bordukh, a native Mongolian, is the firm’s Chief Investment Officer in Mongolia. She overseas current investments in Mongolia including corporate acquisitions, land acquisitions, and property investments. Ms. Bordukh is currently serving as the Chief Executive Officer of Mongolia Properties Construction Corporation and is responsible for the construction of the Companyʼs residential high-rise properties. She also serves on the board of Directors of Belgravia Mining, Asia Pacific Securities and Central Asian Cement. Ms. Bordukh is married to Mr. Cashell. She was formerly the representative of the Mongolian Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Beijing where she gained tremendous experience assisting Mongolian companies in their business development efforts overseas. Ms. Bordukh received her Bachelorʼs degree from The National University of Mongolia in Foreign Service.Ruairi Laughlin-McCann, Deputy Chief Operating Officer
Ruairi Laughlin-McCann has recently joined APIP as Deputy Chief Operating Officer. Most recently, Mr Laughlin-McCann was co-founder and Director of ATC Solutions Ltd, an integrated tax accounting and corporate services practice in London which was sold to Tricor; part of the Bank of East Asia Group. As an Equity Partner at the newly merged Tricor-ATC, he had overall executive responsibility for European Operations as Chief Operating Officer and was responsible for the Executive Directors of Accounts, Tax, Corporate Services, Private Client Services, New Business, Business Development & Marketing, IT and General Administration. Mr Laughlin McCann is a Chartered Secretary with extensive expertise in corporate governance and statutory compliance. Mr Laughlin-McCann has an intermediate grasp of both written and spoken Mongolian having lived and worked in the NGO sector within Mongolia during 2002-2003. He has maintained close links to Mongolia during the last 10 years with numerous client contracts taking him to Ulaanbaatar and Khentii Aimag. Mr Laughlin-McCann holds a BSc in Psychology from Durham and MA in History of Ideas (Philosophy) from Birckbeck College, University of London.Will Tindall, Chief Communications Officer
Mr. Tindall is the Chief Communications Officer for Asia Pacific Investment Partners and is accountable for all of the public relations, marketing and investor relations within the Group. Most recently Mr. Tindall co-founded a public relations company in London, where he developed corporate communication services for investment banks, private banks, wealth managers, family offices and asset managers. Prior to this he worked at a leading investor relations and financial public relations agency and managed the accounts of companies across a broad range of industries; from major airlines to newly established niche hedge funds. He was responsible for guiding a significant number of these clients through a selection of M&A transactions, including dual listings and IPOs.
Mr. Tindall began his career as a private banker/wealth manager for one of the major private banks in the City of London. He moved internally from this role into a business development and marketing manager position and developed a number of key initiatives at an important growth phase for the bank. Mr. Tindall received his bachelor degree in Economics and Finance from Exeter University and holds a number of FSA qualifications.
Kevin Trzcinski, Director of Sales and Marketing
Mr Trzcinski began his career in Asia in 1989 and was one of the founding members of Star TV – Asia’s first satellite television network. Following this he went on to start a successful publishing company, where he produced trade magazines and annual directories for the broadcasting
industry across Asia. Selling the publishing company in 1999, he returned to the United States where he founded a successful wine-tourism business, which was recently sold in 2011. With an appreciation of fine wine, Mr Trzcinski briefly consulted for the Hong Kong Wine Centre, and was successfully building a sales network for US wines in China before being recruited to join APIP.Galbadrakh Dangaasuren, Director of Central Asian Cement
Mr. Dangaasuren has been with APIP for 4 years, during which time he has completed the firm’s management training program across several different business divisions including; property management, construction services, tourism administration, securities trading and cement production. He is currently the acting director of Central Asian Cement and responsible for all aspects of the firmʼs operations including human resources, sales, business development and fund raising. Mr. Dangaasuren obtained his bachelor degree in Humanities from Ulaanbaatar University in 2004. Mr. Dangaasuren took part of his studies in India, after which he returned to work in Ulaanbaatar.
Bordukh Dashdorj, Director of Business Development
Mr. Dashdorj is Director of Business Development and Community Relations for the firm. He actively works throughout the organization to assist in the growth of various businesses and work with the communities we engage with. He actively manages the firm’s Belgravia Mining and Topazstone mining exploration activities. Mr. Dashdorj worked in various management positions in the United States before returning home to Mongolia.Thomas Youngman, General Manager of Mongolian Properties
Mr. Youngman has now been on the ground in Mongolia for approximately two months and is quickly helping to drive sales growth, improve management systems, refine internal communications and ensure that agents offer their clients the highest level of service. He is confident in his ability to further widen Mongolian Properties’ already dominant market share.
Mr Youngman is a Chartered Management Accountant (“CIMA”) and has worked across a number of different industries prior to joining the Team. He has advised firms on early stage business development, fundraisings and has also worked in a sales environment.
Batzaya Ochirbat, Chief Executive Officer of Asia Pacific Properties
Mr. Ochirbat is responsible for the day-to-day running of APP, the shell we recently purchased on the Mongolian Stock Exchange (see above). He holds a Masters in Economical Geography from the University of Aachen in Germany and is also an Engineering graduate from the University of Science and Technology of Mongolia. Mr Ochirbat has a great array of professional experience behind him, including; management positions at the Ministry of Finance of Mongolia, Bodicomputer and Mongolian Star Melchers. He is fluent in Mongolian, English, Russian and German.Narantuguldur Saijrakh, General Manager of Asia Pacific Securities
Mr. Saijrakh is the General Manager of Asia Pacific Securities, a securities brokerage arm of APIP with a seat on the Mongolian Stock Exchange. He manages the day-to-day operations of the firm and is the point of contact for the firmʼs high-net worth clients. He also regularly assists in APIPʼs business expansion and cooperative efforts overseas. Prior to joining APIP, Mr. Saijrakh worked as corporate finance specialist at Frontier Securities, a premier investment bank in Mongolia, and was involved in numerous investment and financing deals as part of his job. Mr. Saijrakh has a Bachelor degree in Business Administration and Economics from American University in Bulgaria, and also graduated from a year-long program at University of Maine, USA, in finance.
